Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Baseplate desktop application and the website at baseplatedev.com (together, "Baseplate", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using Baseplate, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Baseplate.
1. What Baseplate is
Baseplate is a desktop tool that orchestrates AI coding agents to help you build, test and ship Roblox games. It runs locally on your computer and works alongside your own AI provider account and Roblox Studio. Baseplate is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation or Anthropic.
2. Your account with your AI provider
Baseplate requires your own third-party AI account (such as Claude Code by Anthropic). You are responsible for that account, its costs, and complying with that provider's terms. Your usage limits are whatever your AI plan provides. We do not resell AI tokens.
3. Licence to use Baseplate
Subject to these Terms and your plan, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Baseplate. Your licence key is personal to you. You may not:
- resell, sublicense, rent or share your licence key or the software;
- copy, decompile, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- remove proprietary notices, or circumvent licensing, plan limits or security measures;
- use Baseplate to build anything unlawful, or in violation of Roblox's or your AI provider's terms.
4. Plans, billing & cancellation
- Free plan: available at no cost, with the features described on our Pricing page. We may change the Free plan over time.
- Paid plans (Pro, Studio): billed as a recurring subscription (monthly or yearly) through our payment provider. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancellation: you can cancel anytime; you keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for, then drop back to Free.
- On lapse or cancellation: your paid features stop, but your projects, workspaces and history remain on your own disk untouched.
- Price changes: we may change prices; changes apply to future billing periods and we'll give reasonable notice.
Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.
5. Your content & intellectual property
You own your game. Anything you create with Baseplate — your code, assets and games — is yours. We claim no rights over it. We own Baseplate — the application, website, branding and underlying code — which remain our intellectual property.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Baseplate, including by attempting to disrupt or compromise the software or our services, probing others' systems without authorisation, or using the tools to create malware, exploits or content that infringes others' rights.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
Baseplate is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. AI agents can make mistakes: they may produce incorrect code, miss bugs, or introduce them. You are responsible for reviewing and testing anything an agent produces before you ship it. We do not warrant that Baseplate will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Baseplate. Our total liability for any claim relating to Baseplate is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your mandatory rights as a consumer are not affected.
9. Termination
You may stop using Baseplate at any time. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms (for example, by sharing keys or reverse-engineering the software). On termination, the licence granted in Section 3 ends.
10. Governing law & consumers
These Terms are governed by the law of Poland. If you are a consumer, you benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence in the EU, and this choice of law does not deprive you of them. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts; EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product changes. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you (for example on the website or by email). Continued use after changes means you accept them.
